Day 10 continued

Well here we are aboard the Victoria Anna with executive deck privileges. This means we have al a carte dinner service, unlimited soft drinks, 4 pieces of laundry each every day and free internet, woohoo. Our guide advised us to bring wine onboard and arranged a supermarket stop just before arriving at the ship. We've been virtually dry all holiday, apart from the whisky, and this is what we opened tonight. It cost us £10 and I suppose it's not too bad.

We thought we were getting a rest now but here's the itinerary for tomorrow. No rest for the wicked it seems!

Our big surprise was Chongqing. We arrived here today by train and expected if to be a tiny place. What a shock, it's apparently the largest city in the world with 35 million inhabitants. Just driving through the city we can't begin to imagine living in a place like this. It is very very hot and humid and the high rise blocks are crammed in so tightly it's claustrophobic. It also seldom sees the sun, apart from an occasional sighting in maybe July and August. How depressing is that!
